B is for beautiful branches February 17, 2013

I absolutely can not capture enough photos of trees.

When I look at a tree,

I see more than just wood

or  bark

or leaves

or branches.

I see a completely one of a kind structure.
I see shapes and forms full of character.

I see the life that inhabits it.
I see the shade it can provide.
I see the transformation of seasons.
I see the resources.
Masha Allah, It is Allah’s will.

Do you see the beauty?
It’s completely one of a kind.
It’s quite difficult to pinpoint.
How can it be this beautiful?

I believe I may have discovered why

Do you not see that to Allah prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth and the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the moving creatures and many of the people? But upon many the punishment has been justified. And he whom Allah humiliates – for him there is no bestower of honor. Indeed, Allah does what He wills.

Missing: Time. Last seen running away from man. February 12, 2013

Time wins all the races and continues on and on.

The following is a short excerpt from the Qur’an

Surah Al Asr / Chapter The Time

By time.

Verily, man is in loss

Except for those who believe

and do righteous good deeds

and recommend one another to the truth

which Allah has ordained

and abstain from all kinds of evil and bad deeds

which Allah has forbidden

and recommend one another to patience

This is one of the first several chapters a Muslim child may learn and memorize in arabic.
A person who isn’t familiar with the Qur’an may be surprised to find such advice within it.
None of us can deny our loss of time.
Every second that passes is gone and will not return.
This isn’t about time management.
Using procrastination isn’t about lack of time management.
Maybe it’s more about avoiding the time we are losing, till its almost gone.
Maybe it’s more about lack of acceptance of what time can do or be for us.
Maybe a person is just stuck.

What glue keeps us standing still?

                           While time passes us by?

                                                     While the opportunities pass?

Opportunities like doing good and refraining from bad

                                                                     and seeking truth.
